So sorry title may seem confusing. So lately I have been transferring files from my C drive to external drives, even other internal drives. The progress starts, then freezes around 2-10%. However, in actuality, the transfer continues like normal and I have to guess when it's actually completed. It's getting really frustrating considering how often I transfer files to and from different drives.

Also before you say anything, no the drives are not bad at all and have been checked already.

Curious if anyone has had a similar experience or an answer. It even occurred when deleting a file into the recycle bin - it deleted fully but the progress window was still showing 4%

    Data transfer

Dont know what you mean by setup and games. Data can just drag and drop. Or copy and paste. Programs and games installed will have to be reinstalled. At least most do.

forget everything you heard. If you have data (pics and music) on a drive with a windows install you can jsut plug it in as a second drive and transfer the data

New Crucial SSD Data Transfer Kit Provides Simplified Data Transfer Solution

Lexar Media, a leading global provider of memory products for digital media, today announced the Crucial RealSSD C300 with Data Transfer Kit available with the 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB C300 drives. This convenient product bundle includes a Crucial RealSSD C300 solid-state drive, a SATA-to-USB data cable, and cloning software.

Migrating from a traditional hard drive to a solid-state drive offers improved boot up and application load times. In addition, SSDs run cooler, quieter, and with more durability when compared to a traditional hard drive. However, transferring data from an existing hard drive to a new SSD can prove a daunting task to many notebook or desktop computer users.

We succeeded in creating a convenient, start-to-finish solution," said Rob Wheadon, Lexar Media senior worldwide SSD product manager. Need Help Files Transfer

I have a computer running Windows XP Home Edition. That computer has two internal HDDs:

The 1st HDD is C:\ that running Windows. And it has 20GB total of capacity.
The 2nd HDD is D:\ that is empty. And it has 90GB total of capacity.

The C:\ drive is almost run out of space (full). Is there a way I can transfer everything in the C:\ drive to the D:\ drive and begin to use the D:\ drive from there on as primary drive?
Can the Windows Files Transfer feature in XP transfer everything I have in C:\ to D:\? If it cannot, then which way can I use to perform the above step?

    Thank you.
