  1. Transferred folders/files and Onedrive

I have transferred folders, photos and files to my new laptop and deleted them from my old one, I have subsequently received an email from Onedrive to say they will be removed from the delete bin in 30 days. The email infers that I will lose all the items transferred permanently from Ondrive. Does this mean I will lose the items which I have transferred to my new laptop?

  2. Transferring files to another folder. Speed issue.

I run a 500GB WD Velociraptor as my C drive and I have a standard 7200rpm 500GB HDD as my storage (D drive). I'm only getting about 15mb/s right now transferring files/folders to another folder or transferring from C drive to D. Why is the WD HDD so slow? Am I missing something? *Confused Transferred folders/files and Onedrive

Transferring files to another folder. Speed issue.

There's various reasons, the more files, the slower the transfer as each has to be initiated and completed, so if you had a few large ISO's or ZIP files, that would go faster. Many files and folders will slow down.

There's chipset limitations, hard drive limitations, OS limitations, other hardware limitations that can slow you down. Though 15MB/s seems kinda slow depending on the file(s) being transferred. Mine usually jumps around but averages in the 80MB/s-range between drives on the same system or on my home network. Though I prefer to do large single-file transfers as they are much faster in my experience.

Transferring files and documents to a new computer - onedrive issues

    Hi Williams,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

It seems that you have set sync settings to sync every folder and as well as external hard drive and save only on cloud. We would suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below to avail folders (Docs) locally.

    1. Install OneDrive and open
      File Explorer
      .
    2. Right click on OneDrive icon on the right pane.
    3. Then select Make available offline.

You may also want to refer
      OneDrive help
and go through all topics under
Popular topics and check for settings.

      Hope it helps.
