Windows 10: Transferring everything to a new laptop while turning on OneDrive and aliasing new MS account

Hi, I just got a new laptop and I'm trying to use Windows Backup, but with great difficulty. I know I have MS 365 installed but the subscription is managed by my partner. I don't have OneDrive but I'm willing to start using it. The big issue is that my MS account is under an old email I don't like, and my partner created an account with my Gmail. In approximate order, I'd like to 1 figure out how to access my 365 and turn on OneDrive, 2 back up my laptop, 3 alias my account to the new and better email, 4 transfer everything over to my new laptop.

How do I transfer my MS Project to a new laptop?

I have recently lost my laptop due to electrical surge. am in the process of transferring all my information and programs to the new laptop, however I am struggling with MS Projects 2021.

I purchased the on premises version of MS Project 2021 and it does not reflect under my purchased items on my account. How will I be able to transfer the MS Projects to my new laptop? I would like to avoid purchased another copy of MS Projects 2021.

 

Transfer MS Office (on Disc) to new laptop

Hi All

Following a system restore on my old laptop it somehow got corrupted so I did a system recovery that got it up and running again.

My problem now is that it has been recovered back to Windows 7 (it had Windows 10) and before MS Office was put on it. As the laptop is 15 years old I’m not worried about keeping it but would like to put MS Office on a new laptop, I have the disc with 3 licences (2 copies on 2 other computers).

As the old laptop no longer has it loaded can I just load it onto the new laptop or do I have to inform MS.

Before I try it I thought I would ask here first.

PS. On my MS Account my old laptop is not listed in my devices.

Multiple questions about installing - transfer accounts etc.

According to you, the accounts were Windows built-in admin, a local admin and standard user. None of them needs to be moved.

The built-in admin account, as the name says, will be there when you boot the laptop first time. It is disabled by default, you just need to enable it. For two other accounts, simply create same accounts on laptop.

Attach the HDD to laptop using an external USB enclosure, copy contents of data folders to respective folders on laptop.

You mentioned that the desktop accounts were / are local accounts, not Microsoft accounts. See the options to get Pro here:

If you can still access Windows on desktop, boot it up, make it a Microsoft account and link license to that MS account. Tutorials:
