  1. Transferring files, Booting/sleep mode, PC suddenly much slower

Recently I've been having problems with my PC slowing down during certain tasks. One that bothers me a lot is when I transfer files, unzip using WinRAR and transfer files between folders, it can lag as if you're playing a too heavy game for your computer and the frames drop considerably, seeing as I am just moving files from 1 folder to another, I am not sure why the frames and pc itself suddenly goes to such a slow mode. Mouse almost unresponsive and you can feel how it's struggling.Opening chrome after launch will randomly take a moment as well, and it opens maybe 1 minute to 30 seconds after

    :)

Windows 10 boot suddenly a lot slower

Safe mode unfortunately actually seemed to take even longer to start. I can't put my finger on this. Oh by the way, you nkow when you suggested using the MSCONFIG tool and pressing "Disable All" on the non-Microsoft services? I forgot to take a screenshot of these (for my own reference) before disabling them all, would it be fair to assume that they were all enabled beforehand? (just so I know that clicking on "Enable All" should be fine)

Here are the screenshots from HD Sentinel:

    Hi Adam,

For us to better assist with your issue on sleep mode, we'd like to ask a few questions.

    • Have you made any updates to your computer before experiencing this issue?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

In the meantime, we suggest that you refer to this thread and follow the answer of Andre
Da Costa to troubleshoot the issue with sleep mode missing.

You can also refer to this article that was
created by Andre Da Costa to enable sleep mode.

    Looking forward to you response.

    Trouble Putting PC to Sleep

I finally determined what the cause of my PC waking up right after I invoke sleep function Start > Power > Sleep. I recently purchased a Velocifire wireless (2.4ghz) keyboard that also comes with a USB cord so it can be used in corded mode. When used in corded mode, sleeping the PC is not a problem. When I use the wireless dongle, the PC refuses to sleep for more than a second. So, the wireless mode of this keyboard is what triggers the problem. In addition to the things I've tried in my original post, here are the results of some suggestions you guys made:
    • Created a new fake user and logged in under than user. Same behavior.
    • Started PC in Safe Mode. Unfortunately, in Safe Mode sleep functions are limited to the monitor and hard drives. Nothing to put the PC to sleep.
    • Tried going into sleep via Alt + F4. Same behavior.
    • powercfg -a reports S3 is active on my system.
There are no obvious irregularities in Device Manager. The dongle shows up under USB Serial Bus Controllers as a USB Composite Device.
    • General Tab says "This device is working properly".
    • In Driver Tab, I tried searching for a better driver, but Windows says there is no better driver.
    • There is no Power Management tab.
So as it turns out, all of things I've tried appear to have been a waste of time as it was not addressing the wireless function of the keyboard. I contacted the manufacturer and they suggested that I delete the USB Composite Device entry, re-boot and re-insert the dongle. However, that did not change inability to sleep the PC. Any other ideas?
