Windows 10: Transferring pictures from an Apple device to a Windows PC

Is there a reliable way to copy photos off of an iPhone or iPad to a Windows 10 PC? I have tried numerous times and in different ways to copy the pictures to my PC but always encounter errors of one type of another. I have tried using Photos and it imports 10 pictures and then reports an unknown error has occurred or something similar. I have then tried using file explorer and simply highlighting the DCM folder on the iPhone and selecting copy and then go to my hard drive and select paste. Sometimes it will copy for several minutes while other times it stops after only a few minutes and I get

Photos Companion - Pictures transfer from Apple Device to Windows 10 Laptop

I have a HP Spectre Laptop and all other devices are Apple i.e. iphone 7, ipad Pro and iphone 6plus. I would like to install 'Photos Companion' Application from Google Play store on my HP Laptop but not able to do so. After search, I was moved to Microsoft
Store and here the name of similar application is different but still am not able to downloand on this laptop. Is this possible to download some application on my Windows 10 Laptop and further pictures can be transfered from Apple devices to Windows laptop
on same wifi network? Is anyone suggest some way out on this. thanks

 

Re transferring pictures to Window 10

I just transferred pictures to Windows 10 from my Samsung Galaxy Android phone. The pictures were transferred but they are in a separate list and I cannot transfer any of them as as attachment or to my Facebook account. Any suggestions.

Quick Access not searching Pictures folder

Summary, that last suggestion didn't work.

• I moved the pictures to another folder temporarily.

• Then I tried to remove the Pictures folder with option one at Add or Remove Folders from This PC in Windows 10 | Windows 10 Tutorials. Even after rebooting, the Pictures folder remained.
• So I tried using option two. Same thing: reboot >> Pictures folder still there.

• Since there were no troubleshooting steps for this scenario, just for the heck of it, I ran through the restore steps. Copied some pictures into the Pictures folder, ran a Quick Access search and initial problem remains: Searching all of QA doesn't find any files in Pictures folder, running search on just the Pictures folder does. I want to run a global search and find matching files in any/all of the Documents, Music, Videos, and Pictures folders.

That article dates from 2015 and I'm guessing is out of date. I hope it didn't create potential future problems in my registry.

Bottom line: I'm still looking for a fix.
