Windows 10: Transferring the Windows 10 License from one VM to another

Windows 10 licensing on a vm

I would like to put Windows 10 on a vm since I am running Ubuntu and may need some Windows specific programs for college. If I decide that I want to just move my whole computer to Windows in the future, would it be possible for me to somehow transfer the
license from the vm to the copy I'd be putting on my computer? I know the general thing is a license lets you use it on one computer, but if I'm at the point where I'm replacing Ubuntu then I wouldn't have any use for the vm anymore.

Also, my computer shipped with Ubuntu so there's no OEM license or anything.

i bought the license. My laptop was originally loaded with win 7 and was upgraded free couple of months.

in this case, if i understand you correctly, i can transfer with below steps. Right.?

and to my question do you have an update.

does OS upgrades if my activation key is changed.
