Windows 10: Transferring Windows 10 from old PC to new PC. First time, noob, need advice.

So I bought a retail copy of Windows 10 at Christmas and installed it on my old PC, which had Windows 7 on it. Recently I decided to build a new PC, I didn't get a new retail copy of Windows 10 to go with it.

So at first when I booted it up everything was cool. Shortly afterwards the "Activate Windows. Go to Settings to activate Windows" watermark appeared in the bottom right corner. I troubleshot it, and got nothing. I COULD call, but I stutter quite a bit and would really prefer to avoid having to call Microsoft.

Basically, I need to know if I can activate Win10 on the new PC and have my old PC as a backup that would have limited Win10 features. I'd be using it to watch movies or do basic internet in the family room. I wouldn't care if the watermark stayed on the old PC, but if there is a way to get rid of it that'd be nice to know.

I haven't booted up my old PC yet, but I figured I'd have to be offline when I first do, to avoid any possible shenanigans...if I have to do some sorcery involving a USB stick from the old PC to the new please dumb down the instructions as I'm new to this kind of thing. Thanks!

Installing Windows 10 on New PC?

I'm going to be building a new PC on Christmas and want to install Windows 10 on it. I have Windows 10 on my current PC, which I installed upgrading from 8.1 with the files on a USB. How do I go about installing a clean copy of Windows 10 on this new PC? I think I recall something about installing it once makes Microsoft recognize your hardware, but since this will be a PC I'm not sure what steps I need to take. Do I need to go 8.1 -> 10 or is there a method of going directly to 10?
