    Tried to install new hard drive, but getting a beep and HD searching


    My 3-year old Dell desktop is running Win 10 Professional 64 bit. The original hard drive finally failed and I was able to switch to a backup hard drive I'd earlier installed with Win 7 with the F12 key on boot. I then tried to replace the faulty drive by removing it and installing a new Hitachi drive in its place (original was a Seagate). However, having done so, the drive/computer beeps at regular internals and the new drive appears to be searching....
    I suspect it may be necessary to erase the old Seagate from the operating system before installing a new drive in its slot....
    But I am not an expert and I would appreciate any tips that can be offered....

    windows 10 not showing hd

    I have a problem you may be able to help me with. I have another hd installed it shows in bios and paragon hard drive manager but not windows 10 the hd is marked active. tried computer management and initialized hard drive in diskpart with recovery tools
    was successful I have ran out of solutions for this hard drive I have 2 other hard drives installed with no problems

    Lenovo T530 laptop completely dead after window 10 update. Not even any lights.

    I installed the new CMOS battery today. Still absolutely nothing. No lights no beeps not nothing.

    I checked the power supply and the voltage of the new CMOS battery. Seems to be getting power through out the system. The hard drive is accessible by pulling it out and hooking it up to another computer with a cable.

    Really stumped with this.
