Windows 10: Triple monitor setup, monitor going on and off when a new screen is being detected the...

HiI have a triple monitor setup. All are using the same native resolution 2560x1440 , one is 240Hz the main while the other 2 are 60Hz.I do have 2 computers plugged into these 3 screens and I use to start my Win 11 computer with only 1 or 2 monitors, and then the third will be turned on post launch.Since I started with Windows 11 in December 2021, I noticed that every time I'll turn on one of my 3 monitors for the first time after the Pc starts all the monitor will turn on and off for like 30 sec and then stabilize. It does not re do it if I turn on and off the monitor myself but it does

I have been pulling my hair out for months with my Triple 4K setup because every time the computer goes to sleep, the monitors get screwed up. I finally found a program that allows you to manually override EDID info for your displays and force your desired
resolution so the screens will always be setup correctly when you turn on the computer. The program is also free.

Check out Custom Resolution Utility

Custom Resolution Utility (CRU)

Once you run it:

• Disable all of the default "Established Resolutions"
• Delete all of the default "Detailed Resolutions"
• Delete all of the default "Standard Resolutions"
• Add a new "Detailed Resolution"
• Under new "Detailed Resolution" I left all of the settings the same except for the active horizontal and vertical pixel dimensions, which is obviously where you set your desired screen resolution.
• Then repeat steps 1-5 for each monitor.
• Once all monitors are configured properly, close CRU and run the restart.exe or restart64.exe included with CRU and you should be good to go!

I hope this helps other folks who are having similar issues to me with Windows 10 monitor auto detection and displayport connections.

 

Windows Does Not Detect Triple Monitors But Nvidia Does?

Hello I want to change my resolution back to 1920 x 1080 for each monitor instead of 5760 x 1080 for all three combined. I want to play my fps game with just one monitor and have the two monitors on the side usable and not just black screens. so for example I could use one of the spare monitors to stream or have a web browser open, but windows does not recognize my 3 monitors it thinks all three are just one 5760 x 1080, the nvidia control panel detects my screen as separate but I'm not sure what to do here. I knew I should've downloaded that program that allows me to change resolutions back when following a guide for triple monitor setup for msfs 2020... help, why doesn't windows detect my monitors as separate even when i revert the nvidia settings.
