    Trouble after installing RAM


    Hi Reddit,

    Recently updated an old 2011 Sony vaio laptop to use for REVIT Building Software for college. I put in a new SSD, Installed windows 10 pro and also added an extra 4GB or ram (it was single channel 4gb now it's duel channel 4x2)

    However when rendering my drawings, I noticed in performance tab of task manager it max's out at gb of ram, even though it literally says "4gb of 8gb" why is my system bit using all the ram available?

    That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

    At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.

    To RAM or not to RAM...

    Hey genesis what hardware have you bought, you might be able to save on the ram and step up the rest of the hardware a little...

    Or you could go out on the town as suggested... *Big Grin Trouble after installing RAM :D

    could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx
