  1. Trouble connecting iPhone 15 pro with Laptop

Hi, I wanted to connect my iPhone 15 pro with my laptop HP Pavillion, product ID: 231TOPA-ACJ that has Windows 10 education - 22H2 using USB ports but I am unable to do so as it only PARTIALLY connects only charging. But the laptop is able to connect to my iPhone 11 with ease. I wanted to transfer data using USB drivers but I can't seem to find a way regarding the issue. Any suggestions to alleviate the matter ?

  2. Connecting my iphone

    Hi

    Welcome to Microsoft community.

Connecting your iPhone to your new Microsoft Surface Laptop should be a straightforward process. If your laptop is mistakenly recognizing your iPhone as an Android device, here are some steps to resolve the issue:

    Step 1: Install iTunes

    1. Download iTunes:
      • Go to the Apple iTunes download page and download the latest version of iTunes for Windows.
    2. Install iTunes:
      • Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions to install iTunes on your Surface Laptop.
    3. Restart Your Computer:
      • After installing iTunes, restart your Surface Laptop to ensure that all drivers and services are correctly loaded.
    Step 2: Connect Your iPhone

    1. Connect via USB:
      • Use the official Apple USB cable to connect your iPhone to your Surface Laptop.
    2. Trust This Computer:
      • On your iPhone, you should see a prompt asking if you trust this computer. Tap Trust and enter your passcode if prompted.
    3. Open iTunes:
      • Open iTunes on your Surface Laptop. It should recognize your iPhone correctly.
    Step 3: Check Device Manager

    1. Open Device Manager:
      • Press Win + X and select Device Manager.
    2. Locate Your iPhone:
      • In the Device Manager, find Portable Devices. Your iPhone should be listed here as Apple iPhone.
    3. Update Driver:
      • If it’s listed incorrectly (e.g., as an Android device), right-click on it and select Update driver. Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
Step 4: Reinstall Apple Mobile Device USB Driver

    1. Manually Install Driver:
      • If the automatic update does not work, you can manually reinstall the Apple Mobile Device USB driver:
        • Disconnect your iPhone.
        • Close iTunes.
        • Reconnect your iPhone.
    2. Open Device Manager Again:
      • In Device Manager, right-click on the incorrectly listed device and choose Update driver.
      • Select Browse my computer for driver software.
      • Navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers.
      • Select usbaapl64.inf or usbaapl.inf (depending on your system architecture) and click Open.
Step 5: Use the "Your Phone" App

    1. Open "Your Phone" App:
      • Windows 11 includes the Your Phone app, which allows you to connect and manage your phone. Open Your Phone from the Start menu.
    2. Set Up Your Phone:
      • Follow the prompts to set up your device. Make sure you select iPhone during the setup process.
    3. Link Your iPhone:
      • Follow the instructions to link your iPhone. This may require downloading the Your Phone Companion app from the Apple App Store and signing in with your Microsoft account.
    Step 6: Troubleshoot USB Connections

    1. Try Different USB Ports:
      • Try connecting your iPhone to different USB ports on your Surface Laptop to see if it makes a difference.
    2. Check USB Cable:
      • Ensure that you are using a genuine Apple USB cable. Sometimes third-party cables can cause connectivity issues.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

iPhone 15 Pro USB Hotspot/Tethering not working

Hi, How are you? I am Alan, Microsoft Expert, an Independent Advisor. I will be happy to assist you today. I appreciate your contact!

Let's solve the issue of iPhone 15 Pro USB Hotspot not working on your Windows 11 PC.

Solution for iPhone 15 Pro USB Hotspot Not Working on Windows 11

    1.Check USB Connection:

Ensure the iPhone is unlocked and you trust the computer (you should see a prompt on the iPhone asking if you want to trust this computer).

Try using different USB ports on your PC and different USB cables to ensure the problem is not with the hardware.

    2.Update Apple Device Drivers:

    Open Device Manager.

Expand "Portable Devices" and see if there is a device called "Apple Mobile Device USB Driver".

If it is not listed or has a yellow exclamation mark, right-click and select "Update driver".

Select "Browse my computer for driver software" and then "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer".

Select "Apple Mobile Device USB Driver" and click "Next" to install.

    3.Reinstall iTunes (without Microsoft Store):

Uninstall any version of iTunes you have installed.

Download and install the latest version of iTunes directly from Apple's website (not through the Microsoft Store).

After installation, restart your computer and connect the iPhone again.

    4.Check Network Settings on iPhone:

On the iPhone, go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

This will reset all network settings to factory defaults and may resolve configuration conflicts.

    5.Toggle Airplane Mode:

On the iPhone, enable Airplane Mode and then disable it.

This can help reset network connections.

    6.Check Hotspot Settings on iPhone:

Go to Settings > Personal Hotspot and make sure the "Allow Others to Join" option is enabled.

    7.Check Network Adapters in Windows:

In Device Manager, expand "Network adapters".

Check if there is any network adapter listed as "Apple Mobile Device Ethernet" or similar.

If it is listed but disabled, right-click and select "Enable device".

8.Use Command Prompt to Reset Network Settings:

    Open Command Prompt as administrator.

Run the following commands one at a time, pressing Enter after each:

    netsh winsock reset

    netsh int ip reset

    ipconfig /release

    ipconfig /renew

    ipconfig /flushdns

Restart your computer after running these commands.

These steps should help resolve the issue with the iPhone 15 Pro USB Hotspot not working on your Windows 11 PC. I hope this information helps. If you have any questions, please let me know and I'll be glad to assist you further.

    Best,

    Alan

Trouble connecting iPhone 15 pro with Laptop

My airpods pro automatically connects to my windows laptop even if it's already connected to my iPhone, when I turn my laptop on.

Hello, I'm Felipe and I'm an independent Community Advisor, and I'll do my best to help you.

This is a common issue with Bluetooth devices, where they automatically connect to the last device they were paired with, even if there is another device that has priority. To prevent your AirPods Pro from automatically connecting to your Windows laptop, you can try the following steps:

Open the Settings app on your Windows laptop.

Click on "Devices" and then click on "Bluetooth & other devices".

Find your AirPods Pro in the list of paired devices and click on "Remove device".

Confirm that you want to remove the device.

Pair your AirPods Pro with your iPhone again.

After following these steps, your AirPods Pro should only connect to your iPhone and not your Windows laptop. If you need to use your AirPods Pro with your laptop again, you can pair them again by going to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices and clicking on "Add Bluetooth or other device".
