Windows 10: Trouble Enabling True 5.1 Dolby Digital / DTS Output via HDMI Audio Extractor on Windows 10

Hello, I am currently trying to enable true 5.1 surround sound with Dolby Digital or DTS passthrough on my Windows 10 PC, but I’m encountering issues. Setup details:The PC is connected from the GPU HDMI output to an HDMI audio extractor.The extractor outputs audio via optical Toslink cable to a 5.1 Blu-ray sound system. The sound system only accepts optical input or AUX for 2-channel stereo.Windows 10 sound settings detect DTS and Dolby Digital capabilities on the output device.However, when attempting to configure the audio output device, Windows only allows selecting stereo output — no o

Maybe. I tested on build 16184 with mod file from Unlocked Realtek HD Audio Drivers Windows 7, 8,10, page #1681. When I click on test a sound on DTS and DDL, no error( fail to a tone) .

 

Windows 10 and HD Audio formats. Dolby-TrueHD, DTS-HD Master etc.


Since upgrading to Windows 10 I haven't seen any support for HD audio bitstreaming.

Looking through the properties of my sound devices (trying to use Nvidia HDMI), only Dolby Digital, Dolby digital Plus and DTS Audio are listed.

It used to work fine with windows 7.
