Trouble keeping pinned folders to taskbar

I have file explorer pinned to my taskbar. I then have folders I use often pinned to the file explorer icon but after a while I right click the file explorer icon and the folders are no longer pinned. What could be doing that?

  2. Is there a limit on pinned taskbar items?

You can only have up to 12 pinned items on any program.

What I suggest is making a folder with all the icons [RDP files] to the machines and pin it as a toolbar:

    1. Create a folder named Remote Desktop (can be any name)
    2. Right click on empty space on taskbar
    3. Select Toolbars
    4. Click New Toolbar
    5. Locate to the folder and select it

(I suggest you keep them more organized, however.)

  3. pinned a folder from desktop to taskbar, dissapeared

Right-click File Explorer shortcut (Pinned) in the Taskbar and see if the folder is listed.

It should appear as Pinned item in Quick access as well.

I would check what you have done.
Right-mouse click on the pinned Taskbar Item, and Right-mouse click again on the listed item. Select Properties from the drop-down list.
In Properties, check the Target field. Does it say explorer "<path>", or similar? <Path> is the destination to your desired folder.
