  1. Trouble opening log files after scans

W11 Home, 64-BitOver the last couple of days I have been receiving Microsoft notification updates; the most recent was a KB update, I don't know about the rest. Every time when the updates have finished I rebooted my machine. Regardless of which reboot method I use my laptop auto boots into repair mode. I have tried various troubleshooting methods from Chkdsk 2-3x, SFC 2-3x, repairing the image at least 2x, and rolling back to a previous image from 3 and 6 days ago. The only thing I have not tried is completely wiping and reinstalling. Additionally, the chkdsk and sfc scans don't see any

    Saves log files ?

You can either read the files in Windows or my preferred method is.....

    Download CCcleaner from here...........

    http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner

You can then run cleaner, you will see the log files listed, then if you right click you can save as a text file and then have a read. You may also get an "error reporting" log listed seperatly.

    opening .dds files with gimp

Simply, HOW? I got the DDS plugin but the POS wont open DDS files still. Can someone give me a step-by-step rundown of how to install the DDS plugin for gimp so I know if I'm missing something?

    Trouble Opening PDF's

    Hi Parker,

Thank you for posting on Microsoft Community. We will assist you in resolving the issue.

Before assisting further, I would like to ask you few questions:

    • Does the issue persist in Edge browser?
    • Do you get similar error when you open the PDF file in Adobe reader?

Check if you are facing similar issue in Edge browser.

Step 1: Open PDF file in Adobe reader and check if you are facing similar issue.

To open PDF file directly from Adobe reader, follow the steps below:

    • Open Adobe application and click on Edit.
    • Click on Preferences and select Internet.
    • Uncheck Display PDF in Browser option and check if you are able to open the PDF file without getting the error code.

Step 2: If you are able to open PDF file in Adobe reader, I suggest you to
    Turn off Internet Explorer,
enable it again and check if the issue is resolved.

For further assistance, I suggest you to post your query in Adobe support forum.

    Thank you.
