Windows 10: Trouble opening .zip documents

Hello,

I am not very good with computers and need some help. I tried using the tips from Google but it didn't seem to solve them. I am trying to download audiobooks because they help me relax, but I cannot seem to open the zip files recently. I tried several different books and sent an email to the website, but they said there is nothing wrong with the files, so I must be doing something wrong.

Can't open documents

1. Is it any specific document, a document type or all documents, you are unable to open?
   
2. What happens when you try to open the documents?

Trouble opening saved files out of windows 10 explorer documents folder.

I was accessing the files by double clicking the files in the documents folder.

After studying I realized the file types I am having trouble with are .zip files. By right clicking and extracting I eliminated the delay problem but now have extra steps and additional files. Is there a way I can address this?

The trouble shooter was the one out of control panel related to this problem (I believe??).

Can't open Zip Files


When I click a zip file all the options are grayed out. If I right click I do not have an Extract option. If I click Send to Compressed (Zip ) folder it makes another copy in the same folder. What is the next step? How do I open zip this?
