    Trouble reinstalling Windows 10 OS after formatting drives.


    Some context:I'm giving my father my old computer after upgrading to a new one because his computer was really old. I had personal files on the HDD and SSD of my old computer, so I moved everything over that I wanted and cleared the two drives by formatting them.I then put those two drives back into my old computer and inserted a USB into that computer with the Windows 10 creation media obtained from the microsoft website: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10That didn't do anything , so I tried cloning all of the Windows 10 files from my fathers HDD onto my SSD but this

    How to format on Windows 7

    just format from the installer on the windows 7 DVD. the options there when you choose which drive to install on.


    i suggest partiotining the drive, i run with a 60GB C: drive, but then move my user folder to the D: partition - so that when i format/reinstall, my desktop/my docs, etc, dont get lost.
