    Trouble updating windows 20H2


    Hello everyone, my grandma accidentally turned off her computer while it was doing the 20H2 update. After trying to relaunch the update, it keeps getting stuck at 100% in de downloading phase and does not move towards the installation phase. When looking at the update history it says that the installation of 20H2 has failed. Does anybody know how to successfully move towards the installation phase after the update has been interrupted? She has Windows 10 Family, 1909 version.

    Trouble upgrading 20H2 with windows update

    I'm running 10 version 20H2 (OS Build 19042.630) x64. Windows update tries to install KB4592438 2020-12 Cumulative update. Each time I run the windows upgrade, it fails saying some files are missing or have problems. Here is what I have tried: sfc /scannow, various flavors of DISM, stopped services, cleared out the upgrade cache, and restarted services. All of these result in exactly the same message.

    Should I be worried about this? Can I ignore this? What other steps should I try?

    Try this > TechBench by WZT (v4.1.1), and do a clean install.
    It work for me.

    I am Sumit, an Independent Advisor and a 3 year Windows Insider MVP here to help.

    20H2 should not be installed right-away on your device - MS said the rollout is only to a fraction of users and would be labeled as an optional update initially. Are you enrolled in WIP?

    You may uninstall 20H2 using the steps below:
