Trouble with adding my son's account to family safety and correcting his age.

On my son's windows 11 pc he originally set himself up with an administrator account, but I have now changed this so that I am the administrator and his is a standard account. His email address did have the wrong date of birth on - he is 14 but he had set it to age 24. He has now corrected the date of birth on his email account. I have added his account to family safety and it shows up with his profile name and email address in the family members list, but it still says he's an adult. On his PC, on the log in page there are now 2 accounts connected with the same email address- his original on

    :)

I would like to add back my sons account to family safety settings UNNVeGxUyECC4aA0.37.117

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I’m sorry to hear that you’re having trouble adding your son to your family safety group. The error code you provided is not familiar to me. However, according to Microsoft Support, you can try the following steps to fix the issue:

    • Make sure that your son’s account is a child account and not an adult account.
    • Check if your son’s account is already part of another family group. If it is, then you need to remove it from that group first before adding it to your family group.

      - let him login to family.microsoft.com to check if he belongs to a family group or not
    • Try adding your son’s account again after a few hours or days.
We hope this help. We look forward for your response!

    Sincerely,

  3. Adding phone to Family Safety

If you haven't used Family Safety before, you can skip this step. If you already use Family Safety, you'll see a screen where you need to match each Windows account to a name on the Family Safety members list.
If a Windows account doesn't have a matching Family Safety name, click the option to add it.

You'll recognize the people listed on the Family Safety members list as the people in your family who already use Family Safety. When you match them to their Windows accounts, you're verifying for Family Safety that each person is matched to their own correct
settings. For example, if your child's name is Ben, he might have a Windows account named Ben but be listed in the Family Safety members list as Ben Miller. By matching the accounts, you tell Family Safety that this is the same person.

If there's a Windows account on the computer for someone who hasn't used Family Safety before, you'll see them at the bottom of the list. When you click Add (person's name), Family Safety creates a new Family Safety
membership for them with their Windows account name.

You can match your existing Family Safety settings to your Windows accounts...

    Add passwords...

It's important that all of your Windows accounts have passwords. If you have an account without a password, your kids could log on to that account and bypass their Family Safety settings.

If the Windows accounts you're setting up to monitor don't have passwords, click Add passwords.

If you have guest accounts on your computer, you should turn them off because kids can also use them to bypass safety settings.

    Verify your setup...

Click Next and you'll see the Windows accounts that Family Safety is now monitoring on the computer.

Family Safety added complication in Windows 10

Family safety was so easy to manage in Windows 8 as it was all done through a single Adult Microsoft account (i.e. my own). Why in Windows 10 has the need for a child to have to have a Microsoft account been added and then have to send an email with this
account to ask to join the adults family safety? Bonkers!!

I have followed the Steps 1 and 2 that I am meant to follow and set up a Microsoft account using a Gmail address for my learning disabled son (step 1) . An email has been sent to GMail (step 2) inviting my son to join and to verify the invitation to join
Family Safety. I have verified and been directed to sign into the Microsoft account (set up for my son) where it asks for basic personal details; D.O.B etc and I have saved these details.

I am then meant to receive an email to my own [Adult] email which is used to log into my Microsoft account so that I can move on to Stage 3 (and thereafter Stage 4) of setting up Family Safety for my son. But, no email has arrived and in my Microsoft account
the invitation to add my son is still pending even though this has been verified.

It is vital due to my son's learning disability that I can set up controls as was so easy under Windows 8 when this ridiculous added complication of a separate Microsoft account for a child was not needed. I am trying to set up my sons new desktop pc for
his birthday and without the Family Safety in place he will not be able to use it unless 3rd party software offers a solution.

    Sort this please Microsoft!!
