  1. Trouble with bluetooth audio management

    Hello,

I am encountering a strange problem with my new bluetooth 5.0 headset, for which the manifacturer could not work out a solution. I wanted to ask this community before letting them send a replace unit, since I wanted to exclude Bluetooth driver issue or a Windows audio further setting needed.

Whenever I connected the headset to the computer, it just worked fine, until I made a call no matter the application I was using. Problem was: only call-related audio passed both ways and the playback quality was not great. Any other sound from Windows system audio to applications and games just did not work.

So, I started looking through the options: if I used the default options, this will show in the "sounds option" the item I am talking about is the last one in the 'recording' tab and the last two ones in the 'playback' tab:

I tried setting the headphones as the default device for both system and calls with no results.

So I understood that communications only passed through 'hands-free' ""secondary channels"" and that they monopolyzed the whole audio; of these, input channel may be good, but output no. Switching audio to that would make the sound so uncomfortable because of the low quality: while voice quality was acceptable, any other content was unbearable.

More context: this problem occurs on a Dell Inspiron laptop 15 7559, with the latest Windows update available installed. Bluetooth card is an Intel AC 3165 Wi-Fi/Bluetooth combo adapter, Bluetooth 4.2, with latest drivers. I also tried the latest Dell drivers released for my laptop on support page with no result. I tried on a different laptop with a different brand Bluetooth 4.2 chip and had the same results. I do not own other computers with 5.0 bluetooth to try with. I do not know if this can be helpful, but on my Android phone with Bluetooth 5.0 there were no problems and so I tend to exclude a factory defect.

My goal is to both listen to calls and apps example of what I would do: talking online with friends, listening to both their voices and a youtube video at full quality, the same quality I get outside of calls from other sources. In other words: I would like to know if my communication and system and apps sound can all pass through the main, non 'hands-free' playback channel.

1 could this limitation due to Bluetooth 4.2 technology that a newer Bluetooth 5.0 card would solve?

2 if not, is there any setting I can modify to solve the problem?

Thank you in advance and I will give you any further detail you should need.

    :)

troubles with my Realtek WLAN/BlueTooth adapter

"Anyone any idea how to install the drivers mentioned above? As Windows Update does not 'see' them."
It does not see them because that is your list of hidden updates. You can simply check the ones you want to go thru and the next Windows Update will see them but auto install, so be careful if you don't actually want them.

"I am having troubles with my Realtek WLAN/BlueTooth adapter, so I would like to try a driver update."
Best thing to do and not screw up the list of Hidden Updates you already have, is go to Device Manager (Win+X), expand Bluetooth to see installed drivers. Then r-click the driver/Update Driver Software/Search automatically ... If there is a newer one, it will auto install. Test, if not happy roll back by doing same steps except click Properties and use roll back option. Good Luck

    windows 10 Bluetooth audio problems

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

    • What is the make and model of your computer?
    • Do you get any error message?

I suggest to use a different Bluetooth speaker and check if the same issue persists. Also try using the current speaker with different computer running Windows 10 and check. As you are getting Crackles or warning sound it might be an issue with hardware.

Refer the link below and perform the troubleshooting steps suggested and check if that helps.

Fix connections to Bluetooth audio devices and wireless displays.

Hope this information is helpful. Please do let us know if you need further assistance, we’ll be glad to assist you.

Bluetooth kills all audio to/from phone Lumia 635

    Hi BruceSAllen.

Thank you for posting on the forum.

I understand that using Bluetooth connection between your Lumia 635 and your Car's audio system causes issues in relation to audio connection, you're not able to send nor receive audio signal.

In this situation I would advise to try few troubleshooting steps.

I would suggest to try to connect the phone via Bluetooth to another Bluetooth audio system, in order to isolate the issue.

In relation to connection with your Car's Audio System, I would try to Remove the Paired Device,

Settings > Bluetooth, tap and hold your finger on your Car Audio System that should be listed here and select Delete,

and Pair it again after that.

Within the Windows Phone Bluetooth FAQ, you will find a list of compatible Bluetooth profiles,

it's worth checking if the Car's Audio System also provides compatibility with the listed profiles:

    http://www.windowsphone.com/en-gb/how-to/wp8/connectivity/bluetooth-faq

If the issue persists in both described situations, I would advise to backup your phone's content and process your phone's Reset.

For more information about backup :

    http://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/how-to/wp8/settings-and-personalization/back-up-my-stuff

For more information about Reset :

Windows Phone 8.1 End of Support: FAQ

If the issue persists after Hard Resetting the phone, and you've confirmed that the Car's Audio System is compatible with listed Bluetooth profiles, I would suggest contacting the place of purchase of the phone, as the device might need servicing.

    Thank You,

    Marek
