Windows 10: Trouble with Microsoft Designer keyboard and mouse in Windows 10

Hello, everyone,

I'm having a hard time trying to pair/connect the Microsoft Designer keyboard and mouse via bluetooth to my Windows 10 PC. I got a CSR 4.0 bluetooth dongle and it takes at least five tries to successfully connect both keyboard and mouse at the same time. Sometimes they don't appear in the "add a device" list, sometimes it takes forever trying to pair and fails. When the computer enters sleep mode, everything disconnects and it doesn't let me connect again. I tried installing the CSR driver, but kept having those same problems. Other bluetooth devices connect normally, and when I try to pair the keyboard and mouse to my MacBook, they connect almost instantly. Does anyone else have the same problem? Is it a problem with the dongle? If so, what do you recommend?

Unable to connect Microsoft Designer Bluetooth Desktop keyboard and mouse.

Dear All,

I have just got my set of Microsoft Keyboard and Mouse Designer as well.

yes indeed it can be quite tricky.....

the best option I personally recommend is :

1. Go to your device manager

2. Under Bluetooth, scroll down the list of devices present there.

3. Perform a manual driver update (right click every single device) for all items there.

4. Restart your PC.

5. Discover your Microsoft Designer Bluetooth mouse and keyboard (before the update in Step 3, I have removed all the Microsoft designer mouse and keyboard drivers / removed the devices). - this time round, it should connect.

I am using a Lenovo Thinkpad T450s on Windows 10 64 bit using the Intel Bluetooth LE generic hardware.

Microsoft Designer Keyboard issues on Windows 10

Just bought the Microsoft Designer Keyboard and Mouse today, and i'm already having the exact same issues as everyone above:

- No shortcut keys (volume, play/pause, etc..);

- Every time i press one of the shortcut keys, the keyboard constantly freezes and then displays the last 15 characters pressed;

I've done all the steps suggested and everything is still not working.

If i don't solve this issue until the end of this week i'm returning my Microsoft Designer back.

 

Microsoft Designer Keyboard and Mouse do not resume

On my Intel NUC 5i5 w/ Windows 10, my mouse and keyboard do not resume after sleep. It is not the computer that is set into sleep, it is the devices.

Bluetooth devices are;

- Microsoft Designer Keyboard

- Microsoft Designer Mouse

I suspect this to be the power settings under Windows 10 for those devices, when I'm using those devices on Windows 8.1 machines, it works perfect.
