    My Microtek M1 scanner has streaks on anything it scans after installing on a new Windows 10 computer. Any solution?

    Trouble with scanners after upgrading to Windows 10

    I recently upgraded to Windows 10 (64 bit) but found my graphics programs (Microsoft PhotoDraw and Adobe Photoshop 7... yes I know they're old but I LIKE them) will not recognize my Epson 4180 nor my Microtek Scanmaker 9800XL scanners even though they
    are listed in my Windows devices. The programs themselves run fine but PhotoDraw says "No scanners found" and Adobe just locks up. Any suggestions!!??

    You may refer the links to download drivers for Epson 4180 and Microtek Scanmaker 9800XL scanners.

    Epson® Official Support | Epson US

    ScanMaker 9800XL Plus

    As Windows 10 drivers are not available on the manufacturer website for
    Microtek Scanmaker 9800XL scanner, I would suggest you to install driver in compatibility mode.



    To install the scanner
    driver in compatibility mode follow these steps:

    a. Download the latest
    scanner driver from the manufacturer’s website and save it on your local disk.

    b. Right-click on the setup file of the driver and select “Properties”.

    c. Select “Compatibility” Tab.

    d. Place a check mark next to “Run this program in Compatibility mode” and
    select latest Windows version from the drop down list.

    e. Let the driver install and then check the functionality.

    Hi Jean,

    To get better clarity on the issue, kindly answer the questions below:

    • Is the scanner detected under Devices?
    • Were you able to see the scanner on the Device Manager?
    • Have you installed the latest driver for the scanner?

    We suggest you to run the troubleshooter for hardware and devices. To do this, follow the steps:

    • On the Start menu, type Troubleshooting and hit enter.
    • Choose Hardware and Sound.
    • Select Hardware and Devices and run the troubleshooter.

    If issue persists, we suggest you contact the manufacturer to get better assistance.
