Windows 10: Trouble with restart

My laptop was running really slowly so I decide to delete some software of my printer I don’t useWhile I was deleting. One of them, I can’t remember the name said that it needed to restart my laptop before I could use my laptop again I pressed yes cause I didn’t think it was an issue but now my laptop has been stuck on restart for almost an hour and I’m getting really nervous Any tips ?? I also read if you turn off your laptop mid restart your files can get corrupt

When you finish testing the Avast suggestion, make sure that you restart your machine.

Then if the issue persists, please return to the trouble shooting list in post# 89

I think there are three steps that remain; the WU troubleshooter, reset WU components, and manual WU reset.

 

Hard drive/ OS issue

a guy suggested :

• shutdown
• unhooked HDD
• restarted
• yay !!
• reconnected HDD
• restarted
• yay !!

Thanks for your patient help and analysis, zbook. I'll step through some of your suggestions over the next few days - there's a lot to do and some look a bit hairy! That is, for a PC that is working sweetly right now...
