Windows 10: Trouble with screen grab colors

I’m stumped here and would love some help or advise.

Windows 10, when I take a screenshot with the snipping tool or snagit the whole image gets darker. So white backgrounds turn grey and everything else gets equally darker. My screen looks white, like in a word doc, but the screen capture gets dark. I have monkeyed with the settings of both the snipping tool and snagit to no avail.

Since it happens with both programs I don’t think it is an issue with the programs. Another thing is that when I present my screen on Skype other people have told me that it is grey and dark. It’s like what I see on my displays is different than what the system is using.

My IT department reinstalled my video drivers and nothing changed and they were stumped.

This is a real bummer because I give a lot of presentations where I use screen grabs of images but it looks terrible when everything is dark.

Does anyone have any advise or help?

Screen background color

Hi,





You can try these steps in changing the
Background color:

• 
  Go to
  Settings.
  
• 
  Choose
  Personalization.
  
• 
  On the left-side of the window, select
  Colors.
  
• 
  Then
  Choose a Color.

Window background color - I don't appear to be able to do this on windows 10 as the change color scheme bit isn't there.

• Right click on “Desktop screen”.
• Then click on “Personalize”.
• Click on “Colors”.
• And change the color accordingly.

Windows 10 Screen Flashing/inverting colors

Since troubleshooting steps were provided, what I can suggest is for you to try to configure the settings on your monitor's color management. Kindly follow the steps provided below:

• Open Color Management by clicking the Start button, and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type color management, and then click Color
  Management.
• Click the Advanced tab, and click Change system defaults.
• Click the Advanced tab in the Color Management - System Defaults dialog box, and do one of the following:
  
  - To prevent Windows from loading display calibrations, clear the Use Windows display calibration check box.
• Click Close in the Color Management - System Defaults dialog box.
• Click Close in the Color Management dialog box.
