Windows 10: troubleshoot windows 10 / 11 system freezes

Hi All, I bought a Lenovo X1 Carbon gen 12 notebook 4 months ago. The notebook came with Windows 11 at the beginning. I updated everything Lenovo drivers, BIOS, and Windows updates to the latest version. However, sometimes the system is unresponsive. I have to long-press the power button to bring down the system and restart the system again. It happens 3-5 times a week. I tried sfc /scannow and DISM checkhealth/scanhealth/restorehealth and keep doing windows updates and lenovo updates. Still keeping freezing 3-5 times a week. I tried Lenovo Diagnostics tool and run the memtest tool ove

The tutorials provided are just a list of troubleshooting steps. Use only the steps which apply to you.

Since none of the troubleshooting steps here worked, I'd suggest you do a Clean install.

Windows 10 Freezes on Login

• Does this issue persists, when you try to open any application or generally as soon you log-in?
• Were you able to see any error code/ error message when the device freezes?
• How have you installed Windows 10 (Upgrade/ Clean installation)?

I suggest you to try few of the below troubleshooting steps and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to run the System maintenance troubleshooter.

System Maintenance troubleshooter finds and clean up unused files and shortcuts and performs maintenance tasks.

• Press Windows key and type
  Troubleshooting.
• Select Troubleshooting and hit
  Enter.
• Click on View all in the left pane of the window.
• Select System Maintenance.
• Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the troubleshooting process.

Step 2: I suggest you to
run SFC scan.

System File Checker is a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files.

Follow the below steps:

• Right click on the Start button, click on
  Command Prompt (Admin).
• Type “sfc /scannow” without the quotes and hit
  Enter.
• After the scan, restart the computer and check for the issue.

Step 3: Please try to run the Windows Defender to check for the virus on your device.
