    Slow internet problem

    Hi Santunag,

My name is Lee and I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

I got a few suggestions that you may try:

→ Check for pending Windows Update

    • It is possible that your PC is currently Updating in the background which sometimes causes Internet slowness

    • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for updates

→ If that did not help, it is best to re-install the Wireless Driver to the latest

    • You may visit your computer manufacturer website to download the latest Network Card driver

➤ Additional Steps to try for slow internet issue

→ Hard Shutdown (It is best to start the troubleshooting after a fresh reboot):

    • Close all running programs and apps

    • Press and Hold the power button for 30 seconds to shutdown the device. Note that even if the screen went off already, keep on holding the power button until the 30 second mark.

    • Turn on the device again.

    → Check possible problematic driver;

    • Press Windows + X, select Device Manager

    • Expand "Network Adapters"

    • Check if the Network adapter driver has any problem (Yellow bang, Red mark, disabled symbol)

    → Run the troubleshooter:

    • This is while the device is connected to WiFi network and disconnect the Hotspot

    • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Internet Connection > Run the Troubleshooter

→ Restart the Network Adapter driver

    > This step is still done in Device Manager > Network Adapters

    • Right click the WiFi driver from the list and choose disable devices

    • After it has been disabled, do the same step and enable it

→ Run the following commands in Command Prompt

    • Open command Prompt with Administrative access (Search in Cortana and right click the Command Prompt App and select Run as Administrator)

    • Type the following command (one at a time):

    ipconfig /flushdns

    ipconfig/release

    ipconfig/renew

→ If the same problem persist, try resetting network:

    • Settings > Network & Internet > Status > Scroll down and select Network Reset

    → Reset your Router

    • Check your Router manual on how to do this

If my suggestion did not solve the issue, please reply back so we can try other step.

    Kind Regards,
