Windows 10: Troubleshooting messed with my PC graphics.

A while back I was trying to launch a game that kept bugging out and crashing on launch. I googled the problem and surprisingly the suggested advise to fix it was to use the windows 11 troubleshooter which did something. It worked but now every time I open a game it causes a new issue. The default resolution is always set to 3840 x 2160. This is in spite of the fact my PC's resolution and my NVIDIA settings both have the default 2560 x 1440.Even if I adjust the resolution back to normal my PC starts struggling to run the game. Games that ran fine on normal graphics now turn my computer into an

The tutorials provided are just a list of troubleshooting steps. Use only the steps which apply to you.

Since none of the troubleshooting steps here worked, I'd suggest you do a Clean install.

Method 1: Hardware Troubleshoot

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with power. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue is with your Power.

Refer these steps:

• Press Windows key +X, select Control panel
• Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons
• Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel
• Run the Power troubleshooter

And also install all the latest drivers (Graphic) from the manufacturer web site

Method 1: I would suggest you to run “Hardware and Devices” troubleshooter to diagnose the exact issue.

Follow these steps to run the troubleshooter:

  Type “Troubleshooting” without quotes in the Search box and hit enter.
  
• 
  Select “Hardware and Sound” from the Troubleshooter Window.
  
• 
  Select “Hardware and Devices” under Devices option.
  

Follow the On Screen instructions.

Method 2: I suggest you to Un-install and re-install latest graphics card drivers from the manufacturer’s website and see if that helps:

Follow these steps:

• 
  Press “Windows Key + X” from the keyboard.
  
• 
  Type “device Manager” without quotes in the search box and hit enter.
  
• 
  Right click on the graphics card drivers and select
  “Uninstall”.
  

Restart the computer once it is uninstalled.
