Troubleshooting Unavailable RAID Drives After Windows 11 Reinstallation

Hi,I had some major problems with my current Windows Pro 11 installation, so I had to start over by installing a fresh Win 11 image. Before that, I had 4 HDDs, organized as two different Raid 1 disks.Right after finishing my reinstallation, the disks were “synchronizing” in the Windows Disk Management, with a little yellow triangle next to their names.I waited for the synchronization to finish for both Raids. But in the end, even after restarting, my drives are not available in Explorer…They are marked as “online” and “healthy”, but there is no option available with the right click to “repair”

    :)

    RAID Drive becomes unavailable

I am running Win 10 Pro 64 bit. I have a RAID drive set up on my F drive. When I turn on my system it runs fine and is available, but after the PC sits idle for some time none of the files inside of it are available. In My PC I can still see the F drive listed, but I cannot open any of the folders/files inside of it. Any suggestions? Currently my PC is set to never turn off monitor/never put PC to sleep. Thanks in advance for any help you might offer.

Windows 11 doesn't support Raid so beware if you try upgrade on PC with system drives in Raid.

Ran Windows 11 health check on my MSI GT76 Titan DT-039 4K UHD notebook running Windows 10 Pro. Notebook easily passed every Windows 11 requirement (all green check marks for entire list of system requirements). Ran the Windows 11 upgrade which completed fine. However it installed a semi functioning but incomplete version of Windows 11 Pro missing all the important Windows management tools (no control panel, no Windows 11 update, no Windows Search, no Windows Start Menu). My notebooks system drive uses 3x 2TB Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe SSD in Raid0 & that's why Windows 11 didn't install properly. Windows 11 doesn't support Raid. I wound up having to reinstall Windows 10 Pro & simply forget about Windows 11 upgrade per Microsoft Windows highest tier support. Beware if you're Windows 10 PC uses Raid, don't try Windows 11 upgrade or you'll be reinstalling Windows 10 after failed or incomplete upgrade! Microsoft Windows 11 upgrade Health checker should have been designed to detect system drives using Raid to warn Windows 10 users with high end gaming systems that use Raid that it's not supported in Windows 11. Would have saved many days trying to trouble shoot Windows 11 Pro incomplete installation on an otherwise more then capable Windows 10 Pro notebook.

Windows 11 how to get to Safe Mode when running a RAID on NVME drives

Hi TP. I'm Greg, 10 years awarded Windows MVP, here to help you.

I would not run RAID in WIndows, after years after seeing lost files when a drive fails even in RAID 1 mirror. There is no benefit to running RAID except for industrial video editors requiring drives that are huger than any made.

All ways to access Safe Mode in Window 11:

Report back results for each step so I know what else to suggest.

Feel free to ask back any questions. Based on the results you post back I may have other suggestions if necessary.
