Windows 10: Truncated User Name creates problem with command prompt and file path even after editing...

I recently set up my new laptop with Windows 11 and Office 365. I am trying to use my command prompt with various programs and it continues to show the user as the truncation of the first 5 characters of the user name in Windows 11, even after editing the name to properly reflect what I want in the User Account screen. I have surfed online for answers most of the day with each ending in a dead end. I want the file paths to mirror between two PC's, making it easier when accessing a file remotely or through another environment. I initially changed file paths to the new name in my environment

command prompt will not open in safe mode with command prompt

Would I just follow the same steps within safe mode after hooking up to the other system?

 

User File Path Name

Is there any way to change the user file path name? Like C:/users/name to C:/users/newname?

Never mind. It's either not worth it or too risky. I don't want to start over with a new account and redo everything and I don't want to be messing with command prompts. I can't afford to mess anything up. I'd delete the post but it won't let me.

Yeah, I think you're right. I think the purpose of the echo command was to check if ~/bin was in the $PATH file. My problem is that I can't decipher the output and I don't know how to add ~/bin to the $PATH file.

Just for clarification, the snippet of instructions I gave is just a few steps in the installation process. Nothing is actually supposed to be installed with those steps.
