Windows 10: Truncated Username Windows 11

I know this issue has been addressed previously and nothing seems to not work right or is too difficult to understand.Because I entered my outlook email address when I installed Win 11 it truncated my name which makes it ogpis. 1. I created a local account Steven T with admin rights.2. I copied my backed-up Documents and etc. into Desktop>This PC>Local DiscC:>Users>Steven T>Documents etc. and that went ok.3. I logged into my Microsoft account.4. Viewing file explorer, if you look at This PC>Documents etc. all are empty, and the properties show the path to the ogpis username

How about creating a link from your full username to the truncated one tricking programs to install in your truncated name even if they point to the full username.

There are multiple reasons why your saved favorites are showing as truncated. To best address your concern, we need you to answer the following questions:

• Is the issue happening to other browsers, or is it limited to Internet Explorer 11?
• Did you import your favorites from other browsers?
• Were you able to rename folders in favorites?
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

Windows 10 Truncated username in C:\Windows\Users

In setting up a new PC, Windows 10 has truncated my username in C:\Windows\Users from the correct user name (e.g.
absmith) to absmi. Guru Kiran responded to this issue in a previous post, however his suggestions don't really work, or maybe just not in my case. To be clear, I do not need to change my
account user name -- that name is correct. I need to change the name in the
C:\Users folder.

I have several pieces of software that
must be installed in the absmith user folder. They will not install in my current user folder because the name is truncated to
absmi, so I am trying to rename the users folder to the correct name. Guru Kiran suggested renaming the user profile in the Registry, however that results in a new profile where everything previously set up is wiped out and I am back to square one,
or would be if I let it go that far. Complicating the issue are multiple connection and/or activation errors in Event Log, because many of the strings in the Registry have the correct user name, but even more have the wrong one.

I have been through every iteration of Windows since 3.1, and have never before encountered this problem until Windows 10 (1803).

My question is this: Is there any way at all that I can correct this mis-naming problem without have to go back to square one? I would not call myself a "power user", but I am comfortable editing the Registry and making other kinds of tweaks.
