    Trusted platform module malfunctioned. Error code 80090016


    HiMy work laptop had a problem with the keypad and our ICT staff then replaced the laptop with another, installing only my hard drive into the replacement laptop. Since, when trying to use Windows 10 Mail, I get the following error:"Your computer's trusted platform module has malfunctioned. Error Code 80090016"How can I correct this problem?ThanksHeinrich Meyer

    Bitlocker and Trusted Platform Module problems

    We appreciate the screenshot you sent.

    This issue usually occurs because the Trusted Platform Module (TPM)
    uses the manufacturer driver and not the Windows built-in Trusted Platform Module driver.

    To resolve this, you can manually uninstall and reinstall Trusted Platform Module. To do so, see the steps below:

    • Open Device Manager on the device on which you are experiencing the issue
    • Uninstall the Trusted Platform Module driver.

    Give us an update after following the troubleshooting steps provided.

    Something went wrong error code 80090016 - what do I do to fix?

    Trying to sign into One Drive on Word on my desktop to upload changes. This error message came up:

    "Something went wrong. Your computer's Trusted Platform Module has malfunctioned. If this error persists, contact your system administrator with the error code 80090016."

    How do I resolve this problem?
