    I try downloaded and create a USB flash drive OS for my laptop due to my hard drive is dead.

    but I tried several times always got error code 0x80042405 - 0xA001A

    I cannot get USB bootable flash drive,

    I used laptop with win10 pro is dell precision m4800. The laptop is a new one. I don't know where am I wrong?

    What causes 0x80042405-0xa001a error at 50% during creating Windows 10 Media on USB flash drive when running the Media Creation Tool? I have Windows 10 April 2018 Update and need to update the installation media.

    Media Creation Tool Error Code 0x80042405-0xa001a


    It tries to - it's when it fails that you get that error code. Did it leave your usb in an unformatted state? It would if it had encountered a gpt usb. You can test it, it's easily reproducible. Convert a usb to GPT with MiniTool Partition Wizard, then try to use it with the MCT.

    The only other reported case I can find of error 0x80042405 - 0xA001A that has been solved was attributed to a third-party AV (F-Secure) getting in the way of the MCT.
