Windows 10: Trying to access an Ipod Nano with no partition.

Hi,I am looking at an Ipod Nano 4th generation.It was not working correctly and a friend of mine managed to delete the partition on it.I was hoping that a tool like "Macrium" would see the device, via a USB cable, even though it hasn't a partition on it, however it doesn't.It might just be that now the partition has gone, there is nothing at all to connect to but logic says there should be a basic interface still there if only I could find a tool to see it.Any suggestions gratefully received.Thanks, Graham.

anybody know why i cannot sync my ipod nano

when i go to my music files to copy some music to my ipod

it is asking me to connect a device,but when i connect my ipod it shows its syncing and then connected
