Windows 10: Trying to add album artwork to my music files, but Windows Media Player can't accomplish that.

Instead, what I receive is an error message, stating: "We failed to edit some of the properties in this flac file. Your flac file was not edited," or some variation of that. A bit of googling showed this could be a read-only issue, but no amount of toggling with that option in the Properties menu allow me to make changes to my flac files. What's going on here?

Ovi Music Player Not Updating Album Artwork

Can someone please help me before I throw my laptop out of the window! lol



I am being driven crazy by Ovi Music Player and it's incapability of updating album artwork on certain albums. I have tried the 'Get Album Artwork' option but all I get is some stupid message saying that it is unable to get the album artwork! I have even
tried to add the album artwork itself via 'Edit Track Details' which adds the artwork fine but when I go back to the library the artwork is still missing. These are not obscure albums so I fail to understand why Ovi Music Player is not updating them. I don't
think Apple have anything to worry about if my experience of Ovi is anything to go by!

 

Windows Media Player 12 - same album artwork shown

Hello.

I realize this has been asked before so apologies, but I've never found a solution that's worked for me.

I'm running Windows Media Player 12 (12.0.19041.3208) on Windows 10. The problem I have is that a few of my album covers have the same - incorrect - artwork. I've downloaded the correct artwork and dragged it in to the Media Player, which then saves okay, displaying the correct artwork. However, when I go into my Music folder, the correct artwork isn't shown on the album tile.

It doesn't happen on every album, but certain ones won't update.

I've tried clearing the cache via Organize, Options, Privacy, Clear Caches but it doesn't make a difference. Find album info doesn't work either and doesn't overwrite the rogue artwork. I've also searched my laptop for the rogue artwork but can't find it anywhere so I'm not sure where the Media Player is pulling it from.

Any ideas please?

 

Album art sync with Windows Media Player 11 with bitrate conversion

This is what I understand about displaying album art on the S60 Music Player:

• The album art must be embedded in a ID3 tag. "folder.jpg" and other external artwork are not displayed.

• The album art can be embedded into the music file using Windows Media Player by:
  • using the Pictures tab of Advanced Tag Editor, or
  • dragging an image from a folder to the gray "Paste Art Here" box

• If the music is synced to the phone without bitrate conversion, the embedded artwork (and all metadata, e.g. lyrics) is transferred.

• If bitrate is downgraded during sync, Windows Media Player drops the embedded artwork to save space on the phone. This unfortunately happens even with the MTP protocol, where the phone is supposed to disclose its capabilities (e.g. ability to display album
  art) to WMP.

Can the experienced forum members please point out any mistakes in my observations? My phone is a Nokia E66.
