Windows 10: Trying to burn mp4 video to blank DVD

I'm trying to burn an mp4 video to a blank DVD+RW. However, when I inserted the blank disc and tried burning it through Windows Media Player Legacy, a pop up appeared: "Please insert a blank disc in CD drive E:. On WMPL detects the new disc, it will automatically start burning." I am also using an external disk drive. It has no problem reading a movie DVD and will pop up automatically in the DVD Player app.I'm at loss on what to do next. I appreciate any help with this. Thanks in advance!

Burn pics and videos to DVD

Hi Ewan,

You can also burn pictures and videos to DVD by using the File Explorer. To get started, follow these steps:

• Insert the disc and open the File Explorer.
• Select the files that you want to burn.
• Right-click and send to DVD RW Drive (D.
• Create a disc title.
• Once you are done, click Finish burning.

If you'd prefer to use a third-party software, we suggest that you check
Windows Store for available apps that you can install.

Burning short mp4 video clips to DVD using Windows Media Player in Windows 10

Just got my first Windows 10 computer. I want to burn some short MP4 videos (under 10 minutes) to a DVD. I did the first two using Windows Media Player by dragging the videos into the burn list in WMP. Worked fine, the two videos were written to the "data"
DVD in a folder named Video. And were viewed by several friends on their DVD drives.

Went to add several more MP4 clips to the DVD using the exact same procedure. WMP started the burn, then stopped because of "not enough space" for a 40MB video. Even though everything shows there are 4.2GB of free space on the DVD!

What needs to be done so that WMP recognizes and uses the remaining 4.2GB of free space?

 

How do I burn a Music Video DVD on my home computer?

You need the following 4 things:

1. software to create the music video
   
2. software to "burn" (write) the file you created in step 1
   
3. a DVD "burner" (drive capable of writing to a blank DVD)
   
4. a blank DVD compatible with your DVD drive
