    Trying to change Drive letter throws error:

    Virtual Disk Manager

    The parameter is incorrect.

    What is causing this and how is it fixed please?

    Correct. There was nothing running from that drive. I also rebooted to confirm nothing was running several times. I did however realize what the issue was. My virtual swap partition is spread out amongst 3 drives on the computer. That was the culprit.
    I removed the virtual swap partition, rebooted the computer, changed the Drive Letter and added back the virtual swap partition.

    The clue should have been when the error says, Virtual Disk Manager.
    The error could also be a bit more clear as well.

    Anyway... issue solved.

    The error "This Parameter is incorrect" usually happens because of a system or disk errors. To isolate this issue, we suggest running CHKDSK using the command prompt. Running CHKDSK
    can check the integrity of a hard disk and can repair various file system errors. To run CHKDSK follow these steps:

    • Plug in external hard drive, USB drive or memory card to the computer.
    • Press Windows Key + X and then select Command Prompt (Admin).
    • In the Command Prompt window, type chkdsk E: /f /r. You should replace E with the drive letter of your external hard drive or external device.
    • Restart your PC once the process is done.
