Windows 10: Trying to deal with a mess of transferring Windows licenses

Ok, this is a bit of a convoluted mess, and I am not sure what I am even supposed to do, it involves three computers. Computer 1: This is a 3770K system I built in 2012. I installed Windows 7 Pro on it, and eventually upgraded that to Windows 10 Pro. Computer 2: This is a 3rd gen Or was it 2nd gen? i7 Laptop, it came with Windows 8 Home, but I hated 8 so much I went and got another copy of 7 Pro, wiped it's drive, and installed that. I also eventually upgraded this to 10. Computer 3: This is a 11700K system I built recently, currently does not have a key, I am on a temporary Wind

i bought the license. My laptop was originally loaded with win 7 and was upgraded free couple of months.

in this case, if i understand you correctly, i can transfer with below steps. Right.?

let me buy my new laptop and try below.

and to my question do you have an update.

does OS upgrades if my activation key is changed.

Windows 10 license transfer

If its a retail license, yes, you can transfer it. Learn more about transferring the license:

Windows 10 license transfer

There is no actual deactivation method.

You can only transfer the license if its a retail license. If it came with the laptop you can't transfer it.

You can first uninstall the key.

Open Start, type: cmd

Right click CMD

Click Run as administrator

At the command prompt, type:

slmgr -upk

Hit Enter

Next, proceed to upgrade the new laptop:

You might need to reactivate by chat support since the license was previously in use.
