Windows 10: Trying to do a windows backup My folders won't back up to One Drive. Not syncing and I'm...

I'm not really computer literate so that's the first problem. I tried a windows backup. Apps, settings and credentials all backed up. Folders not backed up. Link to go to One Drive won't open.. says app not compatible with my HP Pavilion. Went to app store and downloaded newest version. Restarted pc after new version of app installed. Still can't do backup. Going in circles trying to sync.

Windows 10 won´t start any program as Administrator

Hello. I´m having this issue since installed one of the latest Windows 10 system updates.

When I try to open any program that requires Administrator confirmation (that screen with the Yes/No question), this dialog won´t appear anymore. The screen background stays darkened and nothing happens.

1. Using Windows 10 Home (x64)
2. My microsoft user account is properly checked
3. I´m the administrator of the PC
4. Already tried do create another administrator user account - same problem, no success
5. Cannot start any program/service that requires administrator authorization (not even regedit)

Please help!

 

Can File History backup the contents of drives other than the C:\ drive?

My Data drive, "M:\" is an internal drive, not a USB drive. I'm backing-up to an external 2TB USB drive.

As I said, I've used Windows Backup for many years and never had a problem.

File History seems attractive because it keeps a records of all file versions.

My questions still stand:

1. Can File History backup files on other than the C:\ drive? For example if I add M:\ to the "Backup these folders" list.
   
2. Does File History create an initial, full backup of folders listed in "Back up these folders"?
