    I am packing up my house for a big move, and I recently found what was a pretty expensive Sony Vaio laptop I thought was lost in some luggage years and years ago, and was excited to get it up and running again to send to my mother who only needs the occasional web browser and video camera for zoom calls. It had been 8-9 years since I had logged into it, and I had forgotten my password, so I had to completely wipe it and start over. It is running windows 8 pro and it took a million updates to get it to a place where it said to get to, to start the 8.1 download and eventually the windows 10 upgr

    I don't think that tool asks for a key if you are running the version of Windows you are trying to download the ISO for.
