Windows 10: trying to drain power from my computer after pressing and holding the power button for at...

i've just noticed that when i try to drain power from my computer and holing the power button for 20 seconds the computer turns on it said online that the computer is not expected to turn on after pressing and holding the power button but mine does and i don't know why?

On my (Windows 10) lock screen, instead of the normal "Ctrl+Alt+Delete to unlock," there is additional instruction.





I've also seen "Press and hold the Windows button, and then press the power button to unlock (Or you can unlock by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delete.)" on a different computer (probably Windows 7).

In both cases, pressing the power button just causes the computer to shut off. Am I doing something wrong? Why do these instructions exist, when Ctrl+Alt+Delete works just fine?

Try the below suggested steps.

Method 1

1. Unplug all the external devices except Mouse and Keyboard.
   
2. Try to reboot the device and check the status of the issue.
   

Method 2

I would suggest you to perform Power drain by following the suggested steps.

1. Press and hold the Power Button down for 30-40 seconds.
   
2. Hold the Volume Rocker up and Power ON for almost 20 second.
   
3. Release the power button and wait for next 10-15 seconds.
   
4. Press the power button to turn on your Surface and check the status of the issue.

PC won't power up

Try taking these steps:

Completely drain the computer of any power that may be lingering in capacitors and such. Unplug the PC from the wall, and hold the power button in for a few seconds. At this time, maybe try resetting the CMOS by changing the jumper position and/or pulling the CMOS battery for a short amount of time and holding the power button again for a few seconds.

Try reseating everything. Cords, plugs, components. There may be a loose connection somewhere.
