    Trying to find a bitmap file


    Hello,


    In system properties, there is a white control panel applet on the left side. In windows Vista, it is green with a swirl design. In windows 7, it's a light blue color. It was stored in Shell32.dll, under Bitmap, # 633. However, Windows 10 recently removed all these icons, and bitmaps, from Shell32.dll, and I have no idea where it is stored now. I'm aware of all the MANY other dll files that store icons, but I want to know specifically where this one bitmap is stored, because I want to change it. Any help would be greatly appreciated :

    Hi Trish,

    It can be caused by malwares. Some bitmap files are know to contain virus specially if you downloaded a file from an untrusted website. As an initial troubleshooting step, we suggest that you perform a full antivirus scan on your PC using Windows Defender
    or any third-party antivirus apps that you have and see if it will help delete the files.

    Trying to find a bitmap file

    bitmap files

    I downloaded a free course online yesterday to my computer desktop. Unfortunately, it came as numerous bitmap files (and some PDFs) to my desktop. I don't want them anymore and they aren't disappearing when I attempt to right mouse click delete/cut them
    from the desk top. Any thoughts?
