Windows 10: trying to get a product key for windows 8.1, bought new have recovery disc no key.

So, many years ago I purchased a computer from Aldi running windows 8.1, I have the recovery disc but it did not come with a product key.I phone Medion, they say its software, phone microsoft. but thats online now. It should not be this hard. I have old accounting software that requires this.Any ideas, thanks

Windows Product Key

A friend of mine has an all-in-one that came with Windows 8 pre-installed. He erased the original OS thinking he could install another version of Windows 8. One thing he encountered, that he didn't expect, the BIOS/UEFI has a password. So, basically he is locked out from installing another OS. His BIOS has the product key nestled inside. Is it possible to find out which version the product key belong to?
