Trying to get off of Onedrive. Unlinked my account but all my local directories are...

I installed a new computer and discovered after restoring all my files from backup that they went to Onedrive. I don't want to use Onedrive. Set all the folders so they would be kept on my local disk - and they all were downloaded I see the green checkmark on everything. Then I unlinked my account from onedrive. All looks good.BUT when I go to back them up using file history this is in the event logTrying to get off of Onedrive. Unlinked my account but all my local directories are... :Directory was not backed up because it is a reparse point:<filename> If you want it to be protected, remove the reparse point.Help!

    :)

Can't sign into OneDrive after switching PC to local account

The reason the button to unlink is grayed out when you switched to a local account is that there's no account to unlink:

Your MS account was unlinked the moment you switched to a local account. To link a new or your old MS account, you need to setup OneDrive again. You do this by launching the OneDrive from the Start Menu and then clicking Get Started:

    Local User Account and OneDrive

Hello Jaesun, and welcome to Ten Forums. Trying to get off of Onedrive. Unlinked my account but all my local directories are... :)

When you sign in to OneDrive using OPTION TWO below, you would still need to sign in with a Microsoft account, but you can do so while still remaining signed in to Windows 10 with a local account.

How do I stop solications to setup OneDrive?

    Hi,

We apologize for the delay response and thank you for the additional details.

Upon analyzing this matter, it seems that
OneDrive is having issues in syncing your
Microsoft Account that causes the issue to occur. We suggest you to try these following methods and check if there's any changes:

Method 1: add/remove your account in OneDrive.

To do unlink your account, follow these steps:

    • Right-click on the
      cloud icon
on the lower right of your screen.

    • Choose
      Settings.

    • On the
      Account tab, click on
      Unlink this PC.

    • Choose
      Unlink Account.

To add your account, just run OneDrive again the enter your credentials.

    Method 2: reset OneDrive.

To reset OneDrive, follow these steps:

    • Press
      Windows key + R.

    • Type
      %localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset

    • Click
      OK.

    • Make sure that the
      cloud iconor the
      OneDrive icon
      on the bottom right
      disappears.

    • If the icon doesn't
re-appear after a few minutes, press
      Windows key + R
      and type
      %localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe

Let us know how it goes.

    Regards.
