Windows 10: Trying to get Windows 11 running on VM

    Trying to get Windows 11 running on VM


    I need a copy of Windows running on a VM so we can test software. I tried with the latest ISO on Hyper-V. It completed the installation, but then never let me log in. I tried various Insider Edition ISOs including Release Preview, Beta, and Dev. Same behavior for all those.Then I tried Dev on VMWare&

    Problem activating Windows 11 after switching VMs

    Hi there,

    I purchased Windows 11 Home a couple of months ago and installed it on a VirtualBox VM. But VirtualBox was crashing quite a bit so I deactivated Windows 11 using the following commands:

    • slmgr /upk
    • slmgr /cpky
    (as suggested on Redirecting ) and then installed it on a VMWare VM. Problem is, I can't activate Windows on the new VM even though it was deactivated on the old VM. I tried the recommended Troubleshooting Wizard solutions to no available and I couldn't find a Microsoft email address or support number, so I am posting here. Can anyone suggest how to contact Microsoft about this activation issue?

    PS: I have already deleted the old VM so I can't log back onto it.

    Running your Browser in a VM?

    • Install VMware Player or Virtualbox, VMware being faster in my experience
    • Create a VM with sufficent RAM HD and all CPU cores
    • Install Ubuntu/Linux Mint/Debian or some lightweight distro with Xcfe or LXDE
    • Install VMware/Virtualbox tools
    • Almost any distro comes with Firefox
    • Install Ublock Origin/Noscript/Ghostery
    • Disable cookies with a whitelist/use private browsing.
    In my experience, running a browser through a VM can slow down scrolling smoothness, video playback and increase ping delay

    Hyper-V cannot run Windows 11

    It is well documented by Microsoft.
