Windows 10: trying to import my android contacts with Outlook on my PC

I have a Galaxy phone with Link to Windows installed and working latest version. My PC has the latest version of Phone Link.I was told that you could export contacts from Phone Link and import them into Outlook.I was following directions to copy my virginmedia contacts to Outlook on my PC but the contacts menu seems to have disappeared. As the phone is obviously syncing and I can see the contacts if I search, therefore the contacts must be stored somewhere. How can I export them and import them into Outlook?

Outlook 2019 - Can't import contacts from Android device or Google

Hello all,

I've been trying import my contacts from my Android phone to Outlook 2019 for the past couple weeks now. Android allows me to "export" contacts to a vCard file. When I try to import it to Outlook, only one contact is imported.

I was able to import my contacts from my phone to Google Contacts online. Google offers the option to export contacts as a vCard or .csv file. I get the same results with Google's vCard and with the .csv file, I get an error and never get past selecting the destination. See the attached image.

Any thoughts, tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

 

Outlook on Android - contacts

I have a similar setup to you Outlook 365 Desktop and Outlook Android on smartphone. I have both contacts lists synchronised so that changes on one affect changes on the other plus the contacts also show up in the native Android contacts app. and Gmail for example.

I confess that they whole synchronising process seems a bit flaky to me at times but it works.

If you are going to make changes on a large scale like you want I would suggest exporting all your contacts first as a backup and ensure sync is off.

If you're deleting or editing contacts on the desktop then those changes should appear on your phone during the sync process and vice versa. So I'm not sure why you would want to clear out the phone Outlook and then re-import as the two should be in sync.

I've found that syncing between desktop and phone is not an instant process and can take many minutes in some case.

If however you want to delete contacts on the smartphone, within Outlook, then you tap on the search Icon and the word Contacts appears at the top. Tap on this and you can see your contacts (Poeple) but as far as I know you can only delete one at a time.

It's possible that your desktop contacts may also appear in the native Android contacts app and these can be deleted en-masse by selecting each one first then deleting.

I think you would then turn on sync and hope your two devices get sync'd

But do make sure you have a backup first as the whole process can be a little tricky.

No. Also I followed the steps on Manage suggested recipients in the To, Cc, and Bcc boxes with Auto-Complete

cleared this list (Empty Auto-Complete List.)
disabled the option ("Use Autocomplete list..") and again cleared the list
relaunched Outlook in between
still those very old email addresses show up.

I give up.
