Windows 10: Trying to recover unsaved version of word assignment that just disappeared from my MacBook

I cant locate my assignment on my MacBook. It’s an unsaved version that disappeared and its now reverted back to a version from the start with all of my work today gone

On your MS Word 2016, kindly go to File > Info > Manage Documents/versions and select "Recover Unsaved Documents". Check if you'll be able to see your missing file on the list.

We would suggest you follow the steps mentioned below and check if it helps.

1. Open word application and click the File tab.
   
2. Click on Info > Manage Document >
   Recover Unsaved Documents.
   
3. A list of unsaved files are shown.
   
4. Look for the file try opening and saving it.
