    Trying to reinstall windows 10, very new to all of this


    Can’t do anything on my PC without Bluescreening every minute, trying to reinstall windows 10

    Specs: Ryzen 5 3600 Stock Cooler MSI GTX 1660 Super G.skill 16gb ram 3200mhz running at 2133mhz Asus B550M A Wifi Windows 10 on 512gb Inland SSD EVGA 650w Seagate 2TB HDD

    So my PC crashes within a minute whenever I turn it on to do anything. In event viewer its always the critical system error Kernel Power Event ID: 41 Task Category (63) Keywords (70368744177664), (2)

    I don’t really know what to do I’ve troubleshooted using the windows feature I’ve run memory diagnostics, something with files that goes chkdsk /scannow, and nothings coming up. I’ve unplugged everything from the USB ports except my keyboard and mouse and I’m currently in Safe mode but writing this on mobile because my computer crashed on safe mode earlier.

    I don’t really know what the problem is I’m very new to computer I built my first ever 6 months or so ago and I’m the only one in the family who uses windows. I can guess it’s something with power but it would never crash when I’m playing a game and I would run a game in the background while I was doing schoolwork so that my computer wouldn’t crash but it’s gotten to the point where the split second that I close the game my computer crashes so currently I’m trying to reinstall windows 10 because I’m out of ideas and a fresh start sounds nice but I’ve never done that before.

    I tried to back up some files using the control panel when I wasn’t in safe mode but my computer crashed during that.

    I guess my question is, is it necessary to back up windows 10? I don’t have any pictures or files that are important on here, I can always redownload any applications and launchers tied to my accounts so I wouldn’t lose any games right? I just don’t want to reinstall windows and have to get another windows key when I already have it, and I also don’t want to reinstall windows if I’m just making a small stupid mistake.

    Sorry for the long post and it being everywhere, any and all help is greatly appreciated!

    Reinstall Windows 10 to new hard drive

    Hi Rodolpho,

    We want to know about the issue you're having with your recovery drive. Please answer the questions below:

    • Are you trying to reinstall Windows 8 or Windows 10?
    • If you already upgraded to Windows 10, were you able to create a new copy of the recovery drive?

    We suggest creating a new copy of the recovery drive and then follow the steps provided by Andre Da Costa above this thread.

    Windows 10 Tweaks

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
