Windows 10: Trying to remove a User

I'm trying to remove a user from my PC and and when I open Settings<Accounts<Family & other users I am not able to open "Other Users" so I can remove the user I wish to. The only thing I can do is add someone else which I certainly don't want to do.If I go to the C drive and open the Users folder, the user I wish to remove "Cagey" is an empty folder but when I try to delete it I'm told I can't because it's open in another folder, but when I'm attempting to do this the only folder that's open in the entire system is the C drive Users Folder, and not a specific User folder.Can anybody

Deleting a user account in a Windows device can be done by an administrator. Before removing the user account, make sure that you are using an administrator account to avoid errors.

Follow these steps to remove a user account in your computer:

• Open the Control Panel.
• Click on User Accounts and then Select User Accounts.
• Click on Manage User Accounts.
• Choose the account that you want to delete.
• Click on Delete the account.
• Choose if you want to keep the files or delete the files in the user account that you'll be removing.
• Click on Delete Account button to complete the process.

Removing a "hidden" user and user files

Thanks for your patience. I was able with "Net User" to remove the left over user. It no longer appears when I invoke Net User.

Now for the user's folder which remains behind. After performing the series of steps that you suggested, I attempted to delete this folder. The result again was an error message about permission


"Administrators" appears on the list in the list of advanced security.
