Trying to remove account from family group, but cannot access old organizer account.

We're trying to remove an underaged account from our old family group to remove parental controls/time limits. However, we can't access the original organizer account since the email linked to that account is unavailable it was linked with Cox but we've since switched providers years ago. We have tried logging into the original organizer account but it says that we need to wait 30-days for a "security info change." For now, as an alternative, we've set the underaged account that we're trying to remove as an administrator to see if it'll bypass.

    :)

  2. Unable to remove account from microsoft family as family organizer.

I have two accounts in a Microsoft family, one as the organizer and the other with no permissions. I'm signed in to the organizer account to remove the other and it says that I can't because "Only the adult that granted consent for ______ can remove this family member. Ask the family organizer who granted ______ consent to remove ______ from the family group." The account I'm signed in as is the only other account to have been in that family and is the one that granted access for them to join. I've tried leaving as the organizer because that's supposed to delete the family group, but that just throws a vague "something went wrong" error.

Cannot remove child account from Microsoft Family Group

Hello! My name is Ben a fellow member here in the community, not a Microsoft employee. Hope you are doing well!

I can see you have tried removing the child account already using the current organizer in your Microsoft Family. Allow me to offer assistance and troubleshoot this.

Do you remember if you have a different organizer or adult account in your Family group aside from the 2 accounts you have mentioned? If there is an organizer account before on your group and it is the one who gave consent to the child account, we will need to add the account back so it will be that account to remove the child account from the group.

Note: Only the adult who granted consent can remove a child account from the family group. If the adult cannot access their account, the adult or appropriate guardian should attempt to recover the adult account.

If you have access to the adult account that gave consent to the child account, you may follow the steps below to remove the account from your group:

    1. Using a web browser, sign in to family.microsoft.com.

    2. Click next to the person's name and select Remove from family group.

    3. Select Remove to confirm.

More steps and details can also be found here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/account-bil...

Feel free to reply on this thread if you are still experiencing problem. I'll be attentive to your reply and I'll be glad to offer further assistance.

    Best,

    Ben

Trying to remove account from family group, but cannot access old organizer account.

Account is set to child account and I cannot remove it from the family group in order to change it to adult

My account is set to a child's account, and when I try to leave the family group, it says it requires and adult organizer account to remove me from the family group, so when I log into the organizer account and click to remove this account from the family, it says it requires the organizer that gave my account consent to be the one to remove me, I have logged into multiple account to try and remove my account but none of them are the correct account, how can I remove my account from the family group and make it an adult account?
