Windows 10: Trying to replace ntdll.dll with regsvr32 but getting a DllUnregisterServer was not found...

Hello! I keep getting a crash with the faulty module being ntdll.dll. I want to troubleshoot this without having to do a clean install.


My issue is I'm trying to use the


regsvr.exe /u ntdll.dll


command in cmd to remove the file and then use


regsvr.exe ntll.dll


command to get a new one. Whenever I run the first command I get a popup saying "The module "ntdll.dll" was loaded but the entry point DllUnregisterServer was not found"


Any help on how to fix this is much appreciated! Thank you!

received application error regsvr32.exe

I Get this error when I try to use RegSvr32 via elevated CMD:

The module "ntdll.dll" was loaded but the entry-point DllunregisterServer was not found.

Make sure that "ntdll.dll" is a valid DLL or OCX file and then try again.

This was spurned on by an application error code 1000 involving both Regsvr32.exe and ntdll.dll and I have no idea how proceed from here. Any help would be awesome. Thanks!

Regsvr32 is a command-line utility to register and unregister OLE controls, such as DLLs and ActiveX controls in the Windows Registry. Regsvr32.exe is installed in the %systemroot%\System32 folder in Windows XP and later versions of Windows.

Note On a 64-bit version of Windows operating system, there are two versions of the Regsv32.exe file:

• The 64-bit version is %systemroot%\System32\regsvr32.exe.
• The 32-bit version is %systemroot%\SysWoW64\regsvr32.exe.

Try one of the following methods when you receive a Regsvr32 error:

Method 1: Re-run the Regsvr32 command from an elevated command prompt

• To open an elevated command prompt, following these steps:

Type Command Prompt in the Search box, right-click
Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click
Allow..

• Method 2: Use the 32-bit version of Regsvr32 to register a 32-bit DLL on a 64-bit version of Windows If you receive an error when registering a 32-bit DLL on a 64-bit version of Windows, follow these steps:
  • Open an elevated command prompt.
  • If the 32-bit DLL is in the %systemroot%\System32 folder, move it to the %systemroot%\SysWoW64 folder.

Error Code 0x800106ba when trying to perform a full scan

Hello,

Error code 0x800106ba may be cause by third party software installation which results to conflicts with Windows Defender. The DLL files from the utility are not registered properly which can also be the cause.

For workaround, you can try these steps:

• Set Windows Defender to load as Automatic and that the service is started.
• Re-register Windows Defender DLL files.

To re-register Windows Defender DLL files, follow the steps below:

• Presskey + X > Command Prompt (Admin).
• Typre regsvr32 file name > Enter.
• Replace file name in step 1 with each of the files below one after the other and hit Enter.

regsvr32 wuaueng.dll

regsvr32 wucltui.dll

regsvr32 softpub.dll

regsvr32 wintrust.dll

regsvr32 initpki.dll

regsvr32 wups.dll

regsvr32 wuweb.dll

regsvr32 atl.dll
