Windows 10: Trying to reset my Microsoft password in the activation settings inside windows.

I recently changed my hardware and need to reactive windows and also sign back into my account. I am trying to reset my password when under troubleshooting inside activation settings. I sent the 7 digit code to my cell phone and my email address but the code Microsoft sends is only 6 digits! When I type in the 6 digits and click enter it says I need the 7 digit code. Very frustrating.

Note: The Windows Recovery article has the steps for resetting settings the PC, I suggest you not to perform the reset yet, as there is a change of data
and application lost, if you are okay with reinstalling application and have backed up your data, you can perform the steps.
